The mini paintings are badges that can be worn.
Back in 1982, I did a show in the North and South Islands of New Zealand.
I saw no need for monumental scale paintings since our imagination can image these celestial bodies as vast.
Originally I had the mini paintings look like smaller versions of the larger paintings that they were mounted on.
The large would be the mother and the circular mini painting was the baby.
The baby or infant can be worn and taken out.
A future project I have in mind is to have a G.P.S. tracking devise behind each portable mini painting.
With a light up board one can see which paintings are on the move and which are standing still.
The project will begin as all lights are in the same location and move outward from there.

"Macro-Micro", 48" x 36" (insert 22" x 26"), 2008
* The interior painting becomes a close up view of the exterior painting....
or is it the opposite and the outside painting is the close up view?
With the concept of self- similarity it can be either.

When asked how long it takes me to make a Speed Element Experiment painting
I say that depends on where and when it is made.
Painted in the dead of winter in NY could be a couple of weeks at least
and in the middle of summer in Death Valley could be a couple of hours at most.
