Mayor John McCormac has chosen me to partner in this program which will bring living art to a reclaimed and revitalized area
of the Raritan River in a new park where the art embraces the natural elements as a partner in the art on view.
THIS INVITATIONAL WILL SELECT SCULPTURES FROM AROUND THE WORLD
TO SUBMIT PLANS FOR EARTHWORKS THAT WILL CHANGE OVER TIME.
The first tentative show, opens in 2015, entitled- "DISAPPEARING ACT".
The materials chosen will show observers what materials return to nature sooner and which will not.
Some sculptures will be "ice enhanced"; accepting cold weather and having something to show for it!
Nature is the great creator and not only recognized and respected but celebrated through these works.
This first It is also entitled- "DISAPPEARING ACT" because it is an incredible feat to clean that large an environment!
Ralph Waldo Emerson said it best over 150 years ago and it is time for us to learn:
"Nature has her own best mode for doing ach thing and has told us plainly.
If we choose our own ways as opposed to nature's,
nature will not be slow in undeceiving us."
