By mixing paint and catalysts I recreate the push-pull forces
found in nature that shape and mold all things,
to create satellite views of this planet and places
scattered throughout the universe.

These are abstracts waiting to be called realistic, when technology "catches up".

THE CONDUCT OF PAINT

&

GAIATECH II

A new booklet for 2009:

"The Conduct of Paint"

Inspired by Ralph Waldo Emerson's 1860 book,

"The Conduct of Life".

There came a time in my art experience when art books

could no longer answer the questions I had.

By exchanging the word nature for the word paint,

I was able to create the "art books" I sought.

Over the last several decades

Emerson's writing have been more influential to me than

any art book I have been exposed to.

Not quoting him would have been a missed opportunity;

because so much of what he said 150 years ago

has led to the way I observe and create art in this fresh and new century.
